Traveling at the Speed of Mind

You can learn to direct the pace of your life. It involves regulating the pace of your mind.

When we feel stressed, over-extended, anxious, worried, running behind, short on time, or any of a thousand other variations of this all-too-common feature of our harried days, it is so natural to assume that the world “out there” is the source of our distress. Too much to do and too little time in which to get it all done.

At times like that, I find it so helpful to remember that the world out there just does what it does. It is our relationship to that outer world, how we engage the frenetic and unceasing demands of that outer world, that gives us choice, which ultimately gives us a measure of freedom, of control, and of peace.

When everything around me is moving so fast, I stop and ask,

“Is it the world that’s busy, or is it my mind?”

Learning how to focus your mind, to develop the ability to accelerate and decelerate your mental traffic, to become better able to select which, among the constant stream of thoughts rushing by, is what YOU choose to make your focus: well, that’s the skeleton key that opens the door to calm, to self-control, and to joy.

If you would benefit from obtaining such a skeleton key designed just for you, give me a call at Partners in Healing. Relief and release from anxiety, distress, and depression, is at your fingertips.
